I've tried to install iAtkos v7 too many times and it just isn't working out for me,so, i decided to try another distro-iDENEB v1.4 10.5.6. I would really like to get better screen resolution, ethernet connectivity (wired or wireless) internal preferably but can live with external, and dare I ask, camera video and audio. I downloaded the G950 file and also one called D250.zip provided in another thread on this board, but I still have no idea how to get this to work. As PC and tech savvy as I like to believe I am, all of this talk of kexts and other things is not part of my vocabulary. A big Thank You to vjrngn123 and everyone else for all of the help your postings have provided.Īll of that said, I need some help. On the plus side, I saved an image from my MacBook Pro (no longer have the Mac) and my programs and data were copied to the D250 as part of the setup. Like others reported, my camera, mic, and ethernet (wired and non) do not work. I used the instructions provided by vjrngn123 (as quoted below) and my D250 is running OSX, sorta. I am a Mac noob, but have been a PC since before IBM released their 1st PC into the wild (early tester) back in the day. I'm trying to install -iDENEB v1.4 10.5.6 on my d250, I do not see the same thing from the pull down list, surely nothing with a X, So I'm not sure what the correct choices are ? Can someone help please Once the installation is complete, at the darwin boot screen, hit space and enter "-f"(without the quotes.) and hit enter.*You only have to do this the first time. The whole installation process will take about 30 mins. You can skip through the disk checking process. Kext helper and OSX86 tools are important)Īfter selecting the above, click install. X Applications (choose which ever you want, but these are the one I chose. * Atheros AR5007(can try atheros wifi adapter or broadcom too) X PS2 Fix for ACPI kext 10.5.6(choose any one) In the list, select the following: (X-Drop down menu, *-Select): ? This is a great OS and i suggest all of you buy a copy.įirst of all, donwload iDeneb v1.4 from somewhere(where you get it is not my problem)īurn the image onto a dvd. this is purely for testing purposes only. First off, i am in no way condoning or promoting the use of mac os x on non apple computers. I should have put this in the laptop section.Hey guys, its me again. Does anyone have a solution? Can someone upload the driver?Īnd I'm stupid. I would really not like to install another Ubuntu-based distro on it (again, with nonworking ethernet), but it and Fedora are the only two I've gotten to work as of yet.Īnd I forgot my question. I'm just tired of screwing with getting my AAO back up and running after over 24 hours of constant fidgeting with it. There's no iwconfig present, so I can't use wireless, either. Without some way of getting on the 'net, Arch turned my netbook into a useless hunk of tech. With a few of the posts being on this very forum, I figured someone would have uploaded something to the AUR, but that is not the case. Every post I've found on Google and here, even some fairly recent ones, has had the people find it at that site. I'm looking at the wiki article and it says to go to Atheros' web site to download the drivers for the ethernet adapter.
